The process

From a blank page to a patent in the student’s name.

One-to-one, every step. No prior idea required. In fact, most students start without one.

  1. 01 / Explore

    Find the field

Understand technologies aligned with the student’s interests.

  2. 02 / Investigate

    Study what exists

Examine existing products, published research, and real-world case studies.

  3. 03 / Identify

    Find the gap

Isolate a technical problem the industry has not yet resolved.

  4. 04 / Invent

    Build the solution

Develop an original technical solution to it, from scratch.

  5. 05 / Protect

    Secure the patent

Secure a patent for the invention.

Timeline to success

A structured process from idea → blueprint → patent, with clear deliverables at every stage.

Weeks 0–3

Find the right problem

Understand the student’s interests, explore the technologies around them, and identify a real-world technology gap worth solving.

Weeks 4–7

Develop the invention

Turn that gap into an original solution: the invention architecture, its key technical features, and the drawings that describe it.

Weeks 8–12

File for patent protection

Prepare and file the application with the Indian Patent Office, and take it through to publication in the Indian Patent Journal.

Published: within 12 weeks

Grant target: within 10–12 months*

*Subject to Patent Office prosecution timelines.

We take care of patent prosecution from start to finish, included in the programme fee.

Licensing and commercialisation

After the grant, for select inventions, we take the work further, from a granted right into the market.

01

Identifying potential industry partners for the technology.

02

Opening licensing discussions and structuring royalties.

03

Monitoring the market for adoption and possible infringement.

Commercialisation support is a customised, optional engagement offered case by case.

No idea? That is exactly where we start.

We help students find a problem from scratch, invent a solution, and secure a patent for it.
